Privacy policy for Isotope
Last updated: 5 September 2026
The short version
Isotope collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no network request of any kind.
What the app stores
Three settings, on your device only:
- your chosen temperature unit,
- your chosen theme (light, dark or system),
- whether richer visual effects are enabled.
These are written to the operating system's standard preference store (SharedPreferences on Android, NSUserDefaults on iOS) inside the app's own sandbox. They are never transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app does not do
- It does not collect, request or transmit personal data.
- It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not participate in any advertising network.
- It does not make network requests. All 118 element photographs and every property value are bundled inside the app, so it works with no connection at all.
- It does not ask for any runtime permission — no camera, location, contacts, storage or notifications.
- It contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data whatsoever, it collects none from children either.
Changes
If a future version ever collects anything, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the release notes.
